Just in time for Halloween, here's the new "Bat Wing" base template.
Similar in execution to the "New Style" template, the Bat Wing replaces the cut out area in the former with a different one that's made to look like a stylized bats wing. Optional smaller bat wings also garnish the turbo area as a finishing touch.
The design lends itself mostly for use with character with a bat or vampire theme and works better with something related to Halloween such as this first variant.
Nicknamed "Stick or Treat" as a play on the traditional Halloween greeting "Trick or Treat." Upon seeing the fanart in question, I had decided that I needed to make stick art based on it. Even before I was done with this one, I had already realized the potential of the "Bat Wing" design decided to make it into a base template for other designs to be based on.
Another Morrigan design (I do love the character so). This is uses her art assets from the upcoming Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 (because I do love my "Mahvell" so). The large logo in the background is actually taken from a screen capture of one of the trailers for the game, blown up with the Genuine Factals add-on for Photoshop to avoid the usual pitfalls of enlarging images. The image inside the "bat wing" is a screenshot from MvC3, specifically of Morrigan doing her Darkness Illusion lvl. 3 hyper move. Subtle glow effects and a "scanline" layer finish of the design.
And now for something a bit vampier, we have a design featuring Rachel Alucard from Arc System's BlazBlue series. The background for this is actually a screenshot of the title screen of the arcade version of BlazBlue: Continuum Shift saving some time having to look for a separate background and logo. As with the MvC3 Morrigan design, the image inside the "wing" is one of Racher's supers: her "Baden Baden Lilly" Distortion Drive (as super moves are known in BlazBlue).
An excellent base template for any Halloween themed, or simply vampire/bat themed designs, you can get the Bat Wing base template here.
