BlazBlue Type-D3V base template

Most of the time, creating a design is a deliberate process, with the design being planned from start to finish. There are other times however when a design comes to life almost on its own, this is one of those times. Originally just part of a T.E. top panel art commission, the design took on a life of its own and became what I like to call the BlazBlue Type-D3V template.

This originally started as a design for SRK poster Trugoy for a simple TE top panel template using the BlazBlue button layout. However, after embellishing on the design and adding a few extra touches, I decided that some bits of the design I made could be used for a myriad other designs, and so the BlazBlue Type-D3V base template was born.

The original design

The main difference from the original is that Trugoy's art has no space for the turbo panel, since he would be covering that up with acrylic in his stick. I also removed the customizations to the BB layour, taking out the hex pattern and the Aqua Teen Hunger Force icons and "Type-VA" text. Since the design was meant to be a base template from which variants are meant to be made out off, I also made it so that the same .PSD file could be used for regular, extended and full panel acryllic covers from Tek-Innovations.

Regular, Extended and Full Panel

And speaking of variants, here are a few quick jobs I did based on some older pieces I've done.

This Rachel Alucard (from BlazBlue) template is based on an unreleased sample I did for a Voltech stick. Rachel and her insignia are both part of the background. I used masks on the layers above her to bring her out that way.

Once again, using this Morrigan piece from Stanley Lau. The black top and bottom borders (combined with the scanline-like pattern fill) give the image a cinematic widescreen feel.

Another old design refitted to the Type-D3V template.  The many incarnations of this design are quite popular among the folks at SRK (for obvious reason). Be mindful not to mash LP and LK or things might get messy.

Now for something completely different. This Hatsune Miku design is based on an old commission and I simply used the art assets from that piece for this. I have a weird relationship with Miku, I like the character design and the concept but am not really a fan of the songs and music. Still, this does make for a great piece.

All of the above variants can be downloaded in one big pack here.

The base BB Type-D3V template itself can be downloaded here.

For those wanting something a bit more customized to their tastes, well that's what commissions are for.

Brilliant work.
Love the BB Type- stuff. Going to have to get you to make me a stick like that some time.

@TwiGGy
You still need to show me pics of that HRAP-EX with the art I made.

One of my 3 favorite base templates, the other 2 being the Virtua Stick and the New Versus City. I especially like the variant made for my VAS-HG (El Guapo). Worklog on that coming in about 3 years...

Hey man I love what you've done with the template but it would be nice if you could give a little credit, seeing as how I'm the one that made the original template you created this one from...http://shoryuken.com/forum/threads/check-out-my-new-arcade-stick.75228/page-4#post-3259539
